This is a virtual electronic wallet accessible from the Consorcio Málaga app that can be topped up and used in transport services in the Metropolitan Area.

Where can I use my virtual wallet?

  • On the urban routes of Rincón de la Victoria (Rinconbus) (from September 26, 2022).

Currently, this project is in its initial phase (beta version), so it can only be used on buses that carry out urban services in the municipality of Rincón de la Victoria (Rinconbus), but we will gradually expand new lines.

Likewise, with the intention of perfecting the project (initially, in Beta version), we would appreciate it if you report any incident with the system to our email usuarios@ctmam.es.

What do I need to use my virtual wallet?
  • First of all, you need a smartphone with Android 6 or higher operating system with NFC chip and antenna.
  • Currently, it is not possible to use this system on devices with the iOS operating system, since Apple has restricted its use for this purpose.
  • You must download the Consorcio Málaga application on your smartphone and register for the “Virtual Wallet” service.
  • From this moment on, you will be able to use your mobile device to top up the virtual wallet and travel on the routes enabled with this system.
How does it work?
  • If you have not downloaded the Consorcio Málaga application, this is your first step.
  • Once inside the app, access the “Virtual Wallet” section and complete the registration form, having to accept the conditions and terms of use of the system.
  • To top up your wallet, the system will ask you for the desired amount and will redirect you to a secure payment gateway, where you will have to provide your credit card details. Once the payment has been made, your balance will be updated and you will be able to use it to travel on the routes where this system is active.
  • To make the trip, before accessing the vehicle, go to the “Virtual Wallet” option in the app and press the “I will travel” button. When accessing the vehicle, you must tell the driver the destination of your trip (if necessary to know the amount of the trip) and when he tells you, you must bring the NFC antenna of his terminal closer to the validator machine reader, keeping it in that position until you are sure that the connection has been made correctly (the validator will emit a sound, a green light or specific information displayed on the screen). In your terminal you will receive an acoustic signal that will indicate that the operation has been carried out and the information on the validation result will be displayed on the screen.
How do I get the travel receipt?
  • You can consult whenever you want all the information of the operations carried out (top-ups and trips) on your own device.
  • If a service inspector requires proof of your trip on board the bus, you simply have to show him your ticket in the app itself.
