UPDATE. Possible effects on several Málaga Area Metropolitan Transport intercity bus routes due to La Vuelta 2018 on August, 25th and 27th

La Vuelta 2018 begins in Costa del Sol and for three weeks it will travel throughout Spain. This year, the Vuelta starts on August, 25th in a Individual time-trial in Málaga, and during the following days will pass through the roads of Metropolitan Area of Malaga. Specifically, The the 23rd stage (Monday, 27th) between Mijas and Alhaurín de la Torre.

Looking for the security of cyclists, during the 1st stage (Saturday, 25th) in Málaga, will be some road closures during long time, so, bus routes to/from Rincón de la Victoria will go through the higway till La Araña, and intermediate bus stops between Málaga Bus Station / Muelle Heredia and La Araña (Parque San Antonio, Baños del Carmen, Las Acacias, El Palo, El Tintero II, Entrada Candado and Gasolinera Candado) will be out of service.

Following bus routes will be affected:

• M-160 Málaga-Rincón de la Victoria-Cotomar
• M-161 Málaga-Totalán
• M-162 Málaga-Olías
• M-260 Málaga-Vélez-Málaga (por Torre de Benagalbón)
• M-261 Málaga-Benagalbón-Moclinejo
• M-262 Málaga-Benagalbón-Almáchar
• M-362 Málaga-Nerja (por Torre de Benagalbón)
• M-363 Málaga-Torrox (por Torre de Benagalbón)
• M-364 Málaga-Periana (por Torre de Benagalbón)
• M-365 Málaga-Riogordo (por Torre de Benagalbón)

On Monday, 27th, 3rd stage between Mijas and Alhaurin de la Torre, crossing other towns as Benalmádena, Torremolinos and Alhaurin el Grande. This day will be several road closures and out-of-service bus stops during the passage of the bunch, with important affections on some Málaga Area Metropolitan Transport intercity bus routes.

• Bus routes M-112 Málaga-Mijas, M-121 Torremolinos-Benalmádena-Mijas and M-126 Benalmádena-Torremolinos: Main access to Benalmádena Pueblo will be restricted for vehicles between El Higuerón and Avenida de la Constitución (Arroyo de la Miel), from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm. As alternative route, buses will take the highway from El Higuerón to the Torremolinos Convention Center, towards the centre of Torremolinos. Outward way will take the same alternative route.
• Bus route M-124 Carola-Torremolinos only would access to Benalmadena Costa from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm, with arrival and outward departure in bus stop Residencia Marimar (Los Patos).
• Bus route M-125 Torremolinos-Patronato will be out of service while the Torremolinos ring road and Avenida de la Constitución (Benalmádena) when those roads are restricted for vehicles.
• Bus routes M-132 Málaga-Alhaurín el Grande, M-133 Málaga-Alhaurín de la Torre-Pinos de Alhaurín and M-230 Málaga-Coín (por Alhaurín de la Torre y Alhaurín el Grande) wont access to properly to Alhaurín de la Torre from 7:00 am to 8.00 pm. Towards Málaga, buses will road through Avenida del Mediterráneo till la Rotonda del Pájaro, driving across Calle De la Torre, Avenida Ciudad de Melilla, Avda. Barrio Viejo, Calle Reales Alcázares, Avenida de Ceuta and Avenida Santa Clara, till bus stop Casas Blancas. Outward way will take the same alternative route. In both ways, bus stops Fuensanguinea, Manantiales, Cortijo del Sol and El Lagar will be out of service.
• M-220 Fuengirola-Las Lagunas-Marbella Bus stop La Cala de Mijas will be out of service.
