The Vuelta 2015 begins in Costa del Sol and for three weeks it will travel throughout Spain. This year, the Vuelta starts on August, 22nd in Puerto Banus, and during the following days will pass through the roads of Malaga province. Specifically, the 2nd stage (Sunday, 23rd) between Alhaurin de la Torre and Caminito del Rey, the 3rd stage (Monday, 24th) between Mijas and Malaga and 4th stage (Tuesday, 25th) between Estepona and Vejer de la Frontera.
Looking for the security of cyclists, would be some road closures during the passage of the bunch, which also affect some Málaga Area Metropolitan Transport intercity bus routes. These closures would be of short duration and roads will be open again after the passage of the runners.
On Sunday, 23rd, the bus routes that could be affected are those with origin, transit or destination in Alhaurin de la Torre, Alhaurin el Grande, Alora and Pizarra. The planned timetable sets the start from Alhaurin de la Torre at 13:30 and arrival at Caminito del Rey at 17:30 – 18:00.
On Monday, 24th, its expected to be affected routes with origin, transit or destination in Mijas, Alhaurin el Grande, Cártama, Cártama station, Santa Rosalia-Maqueda, Bells, Rincon de la Victoria, La Cala del Moral and Malaga. The planned timetable sets the start from Mijas at 13:45 and arrival at Málaga at 17:30 – 18:00.
The 25th stage takes place outside the scope of Málaga Area Metropolitan Transport.
